The remains of a civilization long since past...  The only to survive are those who belong to a special race.  In this bleak world, two wanderers coalesce to search for that which holds their fate.

The Origin:    In the 1990's, the small Midwestern town of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin was home to two filmmakers, Jacob Strunk & Daniel Mueller.  They were young men with a vision and they set out to create a film which would realize their shared ideas of an intellectual horror film.  Simple Rules would be that realization: a featurette-length genre piece produced on a micro-budget.  The concept and story appeared over coffee in Art's Diner.  By the end of the afternoon, Mueller and Strunk developed the blueprint for the film to come.  Jacob Strunk would pen the script, the two would co-direct.

The Story:    When Simple Rules collapsed halfway through production, the two filmmakers were left with a tough choice: scrap the idea altogether or move forward along a different path.  They chose to push on.  Strunk developed and wrote a new script with a new story incorporating much of the footage they had already shot and Wrath of Man, a post-apocalyptic examination of human intention, was born.  The film was shot over a year utilizing locations throughout the state of Wisconsin.  The crew was small, about ten people, and everyone had a hand in everything, from costumes to effects to developing elaborate lighting rigs with few resources. However, their plans to utilize the post-production facilities of the local television station (where they both worked) proved impossible when the management rescinded the offer made over a year previous.  Strunk and Mueller turned to the community for help.  Since the idea's inception, Wrath of Man had gained a bit of notoriety within the state, but with their funds all but gone, it became impossible. Wrath of Man was shelved after two years of work.  The two moved on, with Strunk making the move to California a few years later to pursue his filmmaking full time.  It was here, with newfound resources, that finishing Wrath of Man became a possibility once again.

A restorative process began and Wrath of Man was completed and digitally mastered by Jacob Strunk using original source footage and music from production in the '90s.

Wrath of Man, as it appears today at a running time of approximately thirty minutes, is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication on the parts of the two filmmakers who birthed it.  There are no plans to release the film, as perhaps its best purpose is to stand as a testament to a period of time in the lives of two broke, frustrated filmmakers in a small Wisconsin town, but one never knows...it may be exhumed sometime in the future.

NOTE: While Wrath of Man is a completed film, it is NOT AVAILABLE on VHS, DVD, or any other format for public consumption, now or any time in the future. The "privileged" few who have seen the finished project will remain small in numbers indefinitely.
